How many ways are there to live for God?
On the one hand, it seems countless. Christian doctors, Christian entrepreneurs, and Christian stay-at-home moms all live very different lives. The way they live for the Lord in the day-to-day will often appear radically different. On top of that, we all have different personalities, and we are in different seasons of faith and growth. We're all unique--with unique gifts--and we have different people in our lives that we interact with and try to reach. We're all living for God in so many ways.
Yet, on the other hand, any disciple of Christ who is going to live for Him is going to be doing the exact same things as every other disciple of Christ.
Believers hear from God in the Bible, pray to Him, fellowship with other Christians, repent often, serve and love one another, proclaim good news, seek to be led by the Spirit, sing praises, participate in baptism and communion, and so much more. We're all one in faith--under one Lord--and we have the same ultimate priorities and goals in this life. We're all living for God in a similar way.
An encouragement to "live for God wherever you are" is not an admonition to consider your unique circumstances, struggles, and position so that you can discover an absolutely unparalleled way to live for Christ. Your details will be unique to you, no doubt; however, living for God is something we're all doing together with the same ambitions and intentions at heart. It's a plan of life that the Lord has laid out for us in His word.
Therefore, wherever you are, live for God today...with the
rest of us!
